Out of the Box Publishing announces the first annual Giant Word on the Street National Championship, November 20th, 2010 from 2-5pm at the 2010 Chicago Toy & Game Fair at Navy Pier in Chicago, IL.
Out of the Box Publishing has taken their award-winning party game Word on the Street and turned it into a fast-paced, fun, and frantic sport for the whole family! Team members brainstorm words that fit a category, while the other team tries to sidetrack them. For example, if the category is A Type of Tree, apple would be a good answer, but Christmas would be even better. Once the team agrees on a word, one player runs down the 50 foot game board moving the giant tiles to spell the word. The opposing team then has their chance to move the letters back with the next category.
“I have always wanted to create a board game that plays like a sport,” says Al Waller, President of Out of the Box Publishing. “Word on the Street is perfect– anyone can play, the tiles are fun to move and the sidetracking is hilarious!”
The Giant Word on the Street Championship will be held on Saturday, November 20th at 2:00pm, anyone can play and the cost is free with admission to the fair. The winning team will receive one copy of each current Out of the Box game—over 25 total games!
Held at Navy Pier in Chicago, IL, The Chicago Toy & Game Fair is the only toy and game fair open to the public. Every fall, fun-seekers come from far and wide for two whole days of previewing and playing the hottest and latest new toys and games! The Chicago Toy & Game Fair is open from 10am-6pm on November 20, 2010 and from 10am-5pm on November 21, 2010. The cost for admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
