Actually I don’t think Elliott had any sour grapes. It was his first time behind the wheel solo for the news and I’m sure he was just trying to provide a laugh. He sure did sound P.O.ed about The Walking Dead though. 🙂

I’m not sure what was up with this episode. I thought Jeff mentioned this was a news show and opinions would be saved for the podcast. A wise crack here and there is fine and I’ve laughed at quite a few zingers so far but it seemed like half the show was dedicated to Elliot grinding an axe about something. And I don’t know what that mailbag thing was all about. I had the feeling Elliot was taking advantage of his solo hosting spot to squeeze some sour grapes in the direction of our normal host. People emailing him to ask about Jeff? I highly doubt that. They could just email Jeff right? If Elliot wants people to email himself he could just ask and not make a production out of it. If Elliot has a beef with Jeff maybe they should clue us all in on their next podcast. Here’s hoping this isn’t what we can expect from Mondays with Miller because if it is I won’t be listening in on those days.
Sorry, I was just goofing around. I have no axe to grind. There won’t be any mailbag segment. Sometimes you try something and it just doesn’t work, I thought I was being funny but it came out crappy. My fault, I’ll just stick to the news. Ya gotta live and learn.
Thanks for clearing that up guys as I found the mail bag piece pretty lame myself as well. All in all Elliott just sounded cranky in his first shot at hosting. He picked on Donald X Vaccarino, sounded like he was taking shots at Jeff being the leader of TGG, complained about one of my favorite shows in the Walking Dead and just came across as a grump.
LOL! I was wondering if anyone would ask how I had a bunch of emails for a mailbag segment when it was the first episode I ever did.
I certainly don’t think Elliott was taking potshots at me in any way with his “mailbag” segment. I took if for what it way, mainly Elliott being the goof he is a putting together he thought would get a chuckle.
With that said, I will present the remainder of this comment as openly and honestly as I can. Maybe in some subconscious way Elliott was trying to point out to listeners that sometimes he’s treated by our audience as some sort of “second banana” or side kick in The Gaming Gang process. I’m here to emphatically state that this is certainly not the case! Without Elliott there WOULD BE NO website or shows. Period. My best friend clearly provides quite a bit of a compass bearing for everything we do while also posting loads of content and coming up with reviews like clockwork all in a much more limited amount of free time than I have on my hands. Unlike other people out there covering the hobby, if Elliott came to me one day and said, “Hey Jeff? I’m a bit tired of doing The Gaming Gang so I’m going to quit.” I’d obviously try to talk him out of it but if he stuck to his guns we’d be finished; I surely wouldn’t go looking around for someone else to plug into TGG as a replacement because there’d be no way to replace him! He and I would simply go out there and create an all new website and show devoted to Black Eyed Children…
Regardless of the two minute segment on today’s show being anything more than Elliott being a goof, I think it would be nice for people to spell my partner on the website’s name correctly at least; it’s written right in the post itself and he just spelled it for everyone on the show they’ve obviously listened to.
As far as The Walking Dead, sure Elliott may have been a bit harsh – and I do agree with some of what he said but to a much lesser extent – I’m not overly concerned as I’ve heard Robert Kirkman is enroute to Elliott’s house to give my co-host a what for…
‘Nuff said.
