G4C Festival 2014New York City’s largest gaming event, the Games for Change Festival, will take a big old bite out of the Big Apple this month on the 22nd-24th as well as having the public arcade set for the 26th. The G4C Festival aims to destroy the myth some in the public have that gaming is just entertainment in which you can shut off your brain and simply play. We who follow the industry (and love games) already know not only can gaming educate but also influence someone’s values and mores for the better. The festival will feature plenty of keynote speakers including such luminaries as Jenova Chen, Noah Falstein, and Jane McGonigal. The festival isn’t just a bunch of talking heads though as April 26th brings the G4C Public Arcade to the Tribecka Family Street Fair and will be open to the public so they can get their game on!

About the festival:

The 2014 G4C Festival features three days of stellar speakers and panels, game demos, and plenty of networking opportunities, followed by a full day of fun on the streets of lower Manhattan.

Visit the G4C Arcade at the Tribeca Family Street Fair on Saturday, April 26 from 10am to 6pm, located on Jay Street between Greenwich & Hudson streets. Open to Festival registrants and the public.
