Score the Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine on Craigslist?

by Jeff McAleerMarch 22, 2012

There are very few iconic vehicles in all of geekdom that immediately jump to my mind: the Batmobile, the Green Hornet’s Black Beauty, and maybe Kitt from Knight Rider; I can’t say the A-Team’s van was anything to get excited about. If we’re talking about cartoon rides then the list will no doubt grow but one I think would certainly be Scooby-Doo’s gang driving from case to case in the Mystery Machine. Now those living in California (or who want to make an offer from elsewhere) can get their hands on what looks to be a nicely accurate real life mockup, from the classic Hanna Barbara cartoons, through a seller on Craigslist.

Here’s the ad text:

1969 A100 MYSTERY MACHINE – $3200 (san carlos)

69 A100 VAN 6CYL/3SPD RUNS & DRIVES GOOD NEW FUEL PUMP REBUILT CARB REUPHOLSTERED STOCK SEATS BUMPERS INCLUDED NO TEXTS RARELY CHECK EMAILS BEST TO CALL RAY 415-***-****

Well I’ll have to guess skin flint Fred is using an alias here… I do see the van does come with a “Jenkies” license plate but no word if there are Scooby Snacks in the glove box or any of Shaggy’s roaches in the ashtrays…
