Unfortunately our latest podcast is going to be delayed until Wednesday, but doesn’t that just build the anticipation more?
We’ll be back on the regular schedule with episode 26, so don’t dismay!
We told you that we had more tricks up our sleeves… Our good friend Stephen Buonocore and Stronghold Games are joining in the scavenger hunt contest fun! Stronghold introduces their first deck building game, Core Worlds, and it looks to be a doosy!
Elliott and I are celebrating the one year anniversary of The Gaming Gang this month and what better way to get into the festivities than gifts? But here’s the best part:
It’s our birthday, yet some lucky contestant will receive all the presents! That’s right! In conjunction with many of our friends in the industry, we’ve put together a bit of a scavenger hunt in which you’ll visit their websites to find the answer (or answers) to a particular question to include in our entry form. We’ll be very honest and tell you that you won’t find each answer right on the front page of these sites, but we also haven’t made it so difficult that it will take a whole lot of time to track all the answers down.
As Elliott and I finish up with the last of our coverage of Gen Con 2011, we now turn our focus back to what the majority of our long time visitors pop on by for: news and reviews! Although Elliott will be covering the gaming aspect of the Chicago Comic Con this weekend, you can expect loads of new articles appearing on the site within the next week or so as we catch up on our reviews and such.
This past weekend, Jeff’s Grandfather was rushed to the emergency room after they found him collapsed in his home. Although responsive at first, his condition has gone downhill since then. I’m sad to say that it does not look like his grandfather will ever be leaving the hospital.
Of course, the show had to be cancelled and our posts are less frequent as Jeff’s family handles this difficult and painful time. Please join me in letting Jeff know that your thoughts and support are with him and his family.

After having quite a few people comment on how nice our TGG shirts looked at this year’s Origins, Elliott and I have decided to make them available to friends of the website and show.
As many of our visitors have no doubt noticed, we’re one of only a handful of gaming sites or internet programs that does not solicit donations from our visitors or listeners; we never have and never will! But as we continue to grow, the cost of maintaining the website grows as well – more bandwidth means more cost. And, of course, we want to get out to as many cons and game fairs as possible to bring you the latest happenings in the hobby!
I’m sure Elliott and I will joke about the disasters I endured to reach Columbus and return home again on the upcoming show! We can laugh about it now of course but it was pretty hairy going at times.
For our visitors who would like to meet up with us for a bite and a beer at the upcoming Origins Game Fair, Elliott and I will be reserving tables at Barley’s Brewing Company on Friday June 24th. We’re making the reservation for 9pm but we welcome folks to stop on by throughout the night. I can’t say we’ll be closing the bar but we’ll be sure to hang out for a few hours.
