I have to say I’ve been a huge fan of Jeff Smith and his Bone saga for a very long, long time; if you caught today’s episode of The Daily Dope I went into detail about how Bone is pretty much a must read for just about everyone. This means I’m immensely happy to report an all new picture book, aimed at young readers, will be arriving this summer and it features one of the lovable Bone brothers. That’s right, Smiley’s Dream Book is coming in July by way of the Scholastic Graphix imprint. The hardcover will carry an MSRP of $17.99.
From Scholastic:
Scholastic Books’ Graphix imprint will release Jeff Smith’s Smiley’s Dream Book, a preschool graphic novel set in the world of his award winning BONE series, on July 31.
On a beautiful sunny day, happy-go-lucky Smiley Bone is walking through the woods when he begins to count some friendly birds. The birds sing and climb so high that Smiley must find a fantastical way to keep up with them! With lively drawings and expressive word balloons, Jeff Smith has created a one-of-a-kind picture book that will delight the youngest readers.
