This year the attendees of the the convention voted on the Origins Awards and I have to say, and I believe Elliott is with me on this, a lot of these people must have been smoking crack! Some of the winners in these categories are ridiculous…

The winners of the 37th Annual Origins Awards are:

Best Board Game: Dungeons & Dragons: Castle Ravenloft designed by Bill Slavicsek, Rob Heinsoo, Peter Lee, and Mike Mearls, and published by Wizards of the Coast.

Best Historical Board Game: Catan Histories: Settlers of America Trails to Rails designed by Klaus Teuber with art by David Cochard, Pete Fenlon, Harald Lieske, and Mark Zug, published in the U.S. by Mayfair Games.

Best Traditional Card Game: Back to the Future: The Card Game designed by Andrew Looney with art by Derek Ring. Published by Looney Labs.

Best Family, Children’s, or Party Game: Zombie Dice designed by Steve Jackson and published by Steve Jackson Games.

Best Roleplaying Game: Dresden Files RPG designed by Leonard Balsera, Jim Butcher, Genevieve Cogman, Robert Donoghue, Fred Hicks, Kenneth Hite, Ryan Macklin, Chad Underkoffler, and Clark Valentine–published by Evil Hat Productions.

Best Roleplaying Game Supplement: Dresden Files: Our World (Dresden Files RPG) designed by Leonard Balsera, Jim Butcher, Genevieve Cogman, Robert Donoghue, Fred Hicks, Kenneth Hite, Ryan Macklin, Chad Underkoffler, and Clark Valentine, and published by Evil Hat Productions.
