In what can only be construed as good news for our hobby, and the growing public acceptance of table top gaming, ICv2 is reporting the two latest gaming trade shows had grown in attendance over previous years. Not only were there more attendees at the Las Vegas GAMA Trade Show this past March and ACD Games Day, in Wisconsin a couple weeks back, the number of exhibitors grew for both as well.
This could also be a sign of the economic times we live in as well, as more and more friends and families are trying to stretch their entertainment dollars. Folks are not only finding there are tons of board games out there they were never aware of but also the real joy that can be had every weekend without being forced to spend an arm and a leg for a night on the town!
I’ll be interested to see how this translates in attendance numbers at the big gaming cons this spring and summer.
