With its upcoming release recently moved to June, Bloodsuckers may well be worth the wait to those of us enamored with the horror gaming genre.   The game will be released by Fireside Games and is designed by Justin and Anne-Marie De Witt.  Artwork by Yoann Bissonnet.  Bloodsuckers is a vampire vs vampire hunter card game for 2 to 4 players.

The game looks very thematic, and not your typical card game.  There is a board that tracks the time of day (which always matters in vampire games) and also 5 locations with individual dials to indicate their status (I’m assuming this ranges from “All Ok” to “Vamp snack shack”, but I’m only guessing).

Each character card can be rotated and viewed as human or vamp, the back side keeps track of the current battle.  There is a players guide map, 32 character cards, vampoire and hunters combat decks, and various other cards and tokens.  I love the look of the game, take a look at the photo and see what I mean.

Here’s a bit more from Fireside Games:

Save the town of Blackwood, or drain it dry.
The choice is yours
.

The once quiet small town of Blackwood has become a battleground. A coven of vampires has crept in under the cover of darkness to drain the very life from its helpless citizens. As powerful as these creatures of legend are, they do not prowl the streets unchallenged. A team of skilled vampire hunters with an arsenal of modern weapons has tracked these bloodsuckers down and the battle for the soul of Blackwood is about to begin.

Bloodsuckers is a highly thematic strategy card game for 2 to 4 players ages 13 and up.

Play as either vampires or vampire hunters fighting to control the most locations within Blackwood. Unleash powerful card combos to attack your opponent but beware as your strength rises and falls with the time of day. Battle alone or alongside a teammate to recruit the innocent bystanders at the church, graveyard, nightclub, police station, and hospital.

Win the battles and claim the most locations to declare victory in the fight between the living and the undead!
