From Bombshell:
For several years now I have been wanting to launch a new boutique line of miniatures featuring strong female characters. Although I’m using terms like “Bombshell” and “Babes” to describe the line, these characters are much more than either of those outdated terms. The concept needed something retro and nostalgic that evoked images of famous paintings like J. Howard Miller’s “We Can Do It” and Rockwell’s “Rosie the Riveter”.
With this new concept, I want to create a strong recognizable brand that stands for excellence in figurative sculpting. My recent work for some of the top companies in the gaming industry has brought me into contact with a fantastic group of creative professionals eager to collaborate on this project. From concept art and character design to sculpting and painting the finished models, my goal is to create beautiful figurative sculpture in miniature. And now we have an exceptional team of skilled and talented collaborators who share that goal.
We have a fantastic list of classic character archetypes as well as new characters from many popular genres including Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Steampunk and more that we will be revealing throughout the course of the Kickstarter project. We also have several characters officially licensed from artist Matt Dixon that will be added to our Babes line. Our figures will be engineered to make them easy to add to alternate bases for a variety of gaming or painting needs. Care will also be taken to size the figures so they will be compatible with other models from the most popular manufacturers within the 30mm range. The Babes will be cast in metal with a variety of accessory sprues available along with resin creatures and vehicles.
As your first perk for jumping in early and backing the project to completion way before the deadline, we will upgrade EVERY Babe model with a resin scenic base insert! That’s right, all of the Babe models will now come with a resin base insert that will have unique terrain features appropriate to the characters. The base insert will be scaled to fit inside of the depression on a 30mm premium round-lipped base common to many tabletop games. I have created numerous base inserts just like these for Wyrd Miniatures and we are happy to be able to include them with each of our Babe models.
