A legend is reborn. Free League has launched the kickstarter for Dragonbane / Drakar och Demoner, a new and reimagined edition of Sweden’s first and biggest tabletop roleplaying game. The highly anticipated fantasy game was funded in just 4 minutes. The new edition has already raised more than 100,000 USD during the first hour, with 23 days to go.
The campaign includes both English and Swedish editions of the game. All pledges with physical rewards that are made within 24 hours will receive an exclusive bonus art print by artist Johan Egerkrans.
The Dragonbane / Drakar och Demoner Kickstarter campaign includes a free Quickstart PDF available for download at no cost, with a complete introductory adventure and five pre-generated characters.
Drakar och Demoner originally launched in 1982 and has been Scandinavias largest and most beloved tabletop RPG brand ever since. Now, Free League celebrates its 40th anniversary with a reimagined edition based on the heritage of decades of Swedish gaming, updated through the innovative game design for which Free League has been praised for worldwide.
Dragonbane is a classic fantasy RPG full of magic, mystery, and adventure. This new edition is designed from the ground up to facilitate fast-paced fantasy adventures, with very little prep time and adventures that are a breeze to run.
The Dragonbane core game will come in a boxed set, to honor the original editions from the 1980s. The set will include a core rulebook, an introductory scenario with pre-generated characters, and a huge, beautiful map of the Misty Vale setting, created by the magnificent cartographer Francesca Baerald.
If the base funding goal is exceeded, the boxed set will be expanded with a range of stretch goals, including custom dice, custom cards, additional pre-generated characters, and additional adventures, creating a complete campaign to play in the Misty Vale.
All backers will get early access to PDF versions of the complete core set ahead of the official release.
