A new family game is coming soon from Gamewright this June. In Iota, two to four players look to score the most points by creating lines of cards in which three attributes – color, shape and number – are either all the same or all different across the line. The game will retail for $7.99.

From Gamewright:

Gamewright is proud to announce the latest addition to its 2012 lineup. IOTA, the great big game in the teeny-weeny tin, is to make its debut under the Gamewright brand at the ASTRA Marketplace & Academy, taking place from June 10-13 in Baltimore, MD. IOTA, a Mensa Select award-winning game, was previously self-published by Newton, MA inventor Gene Mackles, who sold it online and regionally with great success. Gamewright secured the exclusive world-wide rights and will now add it to its prestigious line of family games.

“They say that big things come in little packages. That is certainly the case with IOTA,” says Jason Schneider, Gamewright’s director of product development and marketing. “It’s a mind-bending game that packs a big punch, given its small size. I’m honored to have it as part of our line.”

IOTA is a compact card game for 2-4 players, ages 8 and up. The object is to score the most points by creating lines of cards in which three attributes – color, shape and number – are either all the same or all different across the line. The game will come in a pocket-sized tin travel case, with a suggested retail price of $7.99.

“I’m thrilled for IOTA to be joining the Gamewright family,” says inventor Gene Mackles. “My sense is that by some neat trick, it manages to both fit right in with and, at the same time, complement their imaginative offerings. I have every confidence that they will give it its best chance to succeed.”
