Evolution: The Video Game (Northstar Games)North Star Games today launched their Kickstarter project to bring the hit strategy board game Evolution to PC, Mac, and mobile. Now, in Evolution: The Video Game, you’ll be able to guide your species to survival anywhere you go. Pledge levels begin at $10, for either Android or iOS, and even include packages which feature the board game itself as an add on. The project is off to a smashing start by reaching over $25k of its $40k goal in the first day.

From Northstar:

Will your species survive or go extinct? Play Evolution, the award-winning strategy game, on PC, Mac or your favorite mobile device.

Evolution is the strategy game of adaptation. Evolve your species to survive and thrive in a constantly changing ecosystem where food is scarce and predators lurk.

Evolution: The Video Game Screenshot (Northstar Games)Now we’re bringing Evolution to a screen near you. We’ve assembled a team of accomplished video game developers, and are getting close to releasing what we believe will be a fresh, standalone experience. We want to make Evolution the new standard for digital board games.

In each game of Evolution, your species rely on food from the watering hole to survive, unless you adapt into a carnivore, and make meals of your opponents!

Want to eat up the plant food before your opponents get the chance? Add a Foraging trait to eat food twice as fast. See a carnivore lurking? Evolve your species with the Climbing ability and escape to the trees. With a deck of beautiful watercolor and interactive trait cards to adapt with, the combinations are bountiful and every game, a new and thrilling adventure.
