Following the hugely successful launch of Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil at hobby gaming stores last year, Penny Arcade, Cryptozoic Entertainment™, the premier developer of original and licensed games, and Playdek today announced the official launch of Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil for iOS, available December 19th. Featuring classic Penny Arcade characters from the popular web comic, this digital deck-building game lets the player engage as Gabe, Tycho, or one of their dauntless allies in an epic battle against Evil! Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil for iOS is now available via the iTunes App Store for $4.99.

“The iOS version of Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil has been a long time coming because, as with everything we do, we wanted to make sure it was a great game and true to the brand before we put it out,” said Scott Gaeta, chief operating officer for Cryptozoic. “We really appreciate all the hard work Playdek put into translating the physical game to iOS, and keeping all the fun of Penny Arcade in it.”

In Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil for iOS, each player’s path is beset by foes like Dark Tycho, the infamous and infectious cauldron of disease PAX Pox, and other Evils! Three modes of play to choose from let players enjoy Penny Arcade wherever they are. Play online with full asynchronous support for up to four players, play locally against other would be game masters, or play against AI opponents.

Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil for iOS features also include an online rematch option, a “Next Game” button that allows players to move between multiple online games, offline pass and play, a card gallery, and an introductory tutorial and rule book.

Tomorrow’s iOS launch brings Cryptozoic’s Penny Arcade line to three titles, with two physical board games currently available in stores. Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil began it all, offering hours of fun right out of the box. Penny Arcade The Game: Rumble in R’lyeh was launched in 2012, featuring all-new cards and art from more classic Penny Arcade web comics. Both physical games can be played separately, or combined for even more Penny Arcade fun.
