I dive into the game play and share my thoughts on the fantasy board game Sanctum, from Czech Games Edition. The game is for two to four players, ages 12+, plays in around 90 minutes, and carries an MSRP of $59.99.

Summary
Sanctum looks more complex when first peeking through the rules than the game eventually turns out. The leveling of the characters can be tricky and the Euro-style mechanics may throw some who expect a more American style of game play. This fantasy journey to defeat the Demon Lords has lots cooking, especially as players take on various monsters in order to score gear and to level up skills and abilities. Strangely, I found the final battle a bit of a let down compared to the proceeding fights with lesser baddies. The component quality is nice, although the artwork could have been a bit less *meh* and the background story could use some more punch. Regardless, we've still had plenty of fun playing Sanctum.
