Summary
While much if Shards of Infinity's mechanics have been seen plenty of times before, the game is still loads of fun - especially as a two player slugfest. The game moves quickly and the available power ramps up so games don't drag on and on or become stalemates. I like the mercenary aspect of some cards and the fact that leveling up your mastery can provide additional boosts to some cards you're adding to your deck. The game did feel a little clunky with four players so I personally recommend sticking to a two player game.
