Sure, it’s officially our first episode but we bring you the same random antics that many liked from our notorious Episode Zero. Once again it’s Elliott and Jeff just freewheeling their way through whatever pops into mind as far as the world of gaming. Luckily, we have James contributing this time around so the nonsense doesn’t get too far out of hand!
We have to apologize because, as we began to record the show, Elliott’s neighbor decided that it was just the perfect time to begin pounding away repairing his roof. From time to time you’ll hear some thumps but it was either cancel recording the show or hunkering down and doing the best we could…
We have reviews of The Looney Bin from Numbskull Games and Charon Inc just hitting shelves from Gryphon Games! We also take a look into horror in games, as we prepare for our big Halloween show, and a lot more!
Be sure to listen to the end because we have yet another TGG contest and announce the winner of our first. This new contest involves a little more effort but that simply means you’ll have fewer people to compete against. How cool is that?
We look forward to what you have to say this time since we aren’t going to bribe anyone to give Episode One a listen…
Download the show to take it on the go right here!
We’ll have the detailed show notes up compliments of James in the next few days!
Plus, we’ll be working on getting the program on iTunes as soon as we can for those of you who were interested in subscribing!

Nice call on the lowest rated game. The lowest rated game, that has an actual bgg ranking, is indeed tic-tac-toe. Ranked at 6437 with a bgg rating of 2.891 and an average user rating of 2.39.

Great show.
Like the horror segment. One game that I think might convey some of it is Space Hulk. Though, maybe it's more tension than horror. The game mechanic of not knowing how many of the bad guys a blip represents is pretty cool.
My son and I also add to the theme by having a small laptop play the flash-based timer thing with the cool countdown sound effects.
Also, outtakes normally only provide a minor chuckle, but this one actually had me cracking up.
Keep doing what you're doing, and don't worry about who you'll offend. There's already plenty of family-friendly, politically correct podcasts, no need to be careful on this one.

I’m really glad to hear you enjoyed playing Pizza Box Football with your son. FYI, Pizza Box Football does come with 6 plays per side in each game. The base game you mentioned has the 3 plays, and the additional plays are on the Expansion Game card included with your set. The Expansion Plays work with your existing game and add to the strategy and tension of the play-calling.
Lastly, prior to each Super Bowl we run an event for the big game. You can get free teams from our site, play before the game happens and send us your results. Our players’ predictions have been right on the money, predicting 4 out of 5 winners (and spreads, and final score). Talk about the wisdom of crowds!
All the best,
Erik Smith
