A trio of new games, set in the fantasy world of Valeria, are up for crowdfunding for Daily Magic Games. Right now you can reserve copies of a trick taking card game (Thrones of Valeria), a single player tower defense game (Siege of Valeria), and a roll and write game (Dice Kingdoms of Valeria). You can pledge support of a single game for a $30.00 pledge, two games for a $55.00 pledge, or all three games for a $75.00 pledge through December 10th. The Kickstarter project has already funded in the first few hours and expected delivery of the games is next September.
About the games:
Develop your duchy, explore the surrounding lands, and battle foes in the monster-infested forests, all with the roll of six dice and the clever choices you make. On your turn you’ll roll six dice – two dice will activate the citizens for all players simultaneously but the other four dice are just for you. Will you hire citizens to patronize the guilds and fill up your treasury so that you can gain scoring options? Will you slay monsters for glory and rewards? Or, will you build roads to Domains that give you citizens, gold, monsters, and dice manipulation powers? A solo-mode is included where you’ll need to prove your duchy’s worth in time for a royal visit.
Backer Bonus Inside: After a summer spent fortifying your duchy and subduing the monster-kin, winter’s first snowfall puts you right back at square-one, but this time the monster-kin are better organized and harder to find. This winter-themed expansion for Dice Kingdoms of Valeria contains snowy castle and forest player pads (50 sheets each) featuring a new map with unfamiliar roads to your favorite domains and some new monster-slaying mechanics.
Siege of Valeria
An army of monster-kin have attacked your fortress and wave upon wave of vile troops assault your castle walls while deadly siege engines bear down upon you. Your pool of soldier and holy dice are your weapons and every troop you defeat gives you a special power to use against the horde. Inspired use of card and dice combos can see you to victory, but time is running out and the walls are starting to crumble.
Backer Bonus Inside: After you’ve honed your skills in the base game, take on the challenge of Siege of Valeria Campaign! This 68 card expansion adds Dukes to lead your fortress, Monster-kin Commanders as opponents, Elite Troops to challenge you, bonuses and penalties that carry over from one game to the next, and Boss Monsters determined to flatten your castle.
In the barracks and taverns of Valeria, citizens pass the time by playing a card game based on the cunning and treachery of the five great houses who founded the Kingdom. A standings board ranks the notoriety of each House and every card in a trick can shift the rankings, gain coins, or change when the game ends. Play as individuals or teams depending on the player count or the whims of the players. Winning a trick can earn you wealth or drain your funds, so consider your plays carefully if you want to rule the land.
