Classic Dungeons & Dragons at Dungeon Masters Guild

Revolution, a new show coming this fall on NBC has me intrigued. What would happen if all the electricity in the world suddenly stopped working? Well, you wouldn’t be reading this for one thing. I’m wondering how all of the power could suddenly go out, and I guess that is one of the questions of the show. After the initial power loss and ensuing chaos, the show slips ahead 15 years, and people are still trying to figure out why there is no power. Ya canna’ change the laws of physics Captain!

It is an interesting take though. Will there be steam power? Will there still be trains? Water mills? Wind mills? Angry Birds? Does the show basically put us back in the 1850’s technology wise? One of the actors from a photo I saw is wearing an AC/DC t-shirt. How did they make that? Did he get it in the 80’s and it is still holding up strong some 30 odd years later?

Our entire way of life depends on electricity. So what would happen if it just stopped working?

Well, one day, like a switch turned off, the world is suddenly thrust back into the dark ages. Planes fall from the sky, hospitals shut down, and communication is impossible. And without any modern technology, who can tell us why?

Now, 15 years later, life is back to what it once was long before the industrial revolution: families living in quiet cul-de-sacs, and when the sun goes down, the lanterns and candles are lit. Life is slower and sweeter. Or is it?

On the fringes of small farming communities, danger lurks. And a young woman’s life is dramatically changed when a local militia arrives and kills her father, who mysteriously – and unbeknownst to her – had something to do with the blackout. This brutal encounter sets her and two unlikely companions off on a daring coming-of-age journey to find answers about the past in the hopes of reclaiming the future.

From director Jon Favreau (“Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2”) and the fertile imaginations of J.J. Abrams and Eric Kripke (“Supernatural”), comes a surprising “what if” action-adventure series, where an unlikely hero will lead the world out of the dark. Literally.

Many questions remain to be answered in this new show coming from NBC. Revolution debuts on Monday, September 17th. But if you can’t wait until then, here is the trailer to whet your appetite.
