For what will likely shape up to be the biggest movie opening in 2012, Liongate’s The Hunger Games, there’s a new trailer hitting TV screens that give the film a more epic look than previous glimpses have given television audiences.
Current tracking numbers indicate the film, which is based on the highly popular series of young adult novels by Suzanne Collins, will be a financial hit regardless of it’s quality; most opening screenings are already sold out. This means the film will no doubt launch a franchise with the two following books, Catching Fire and Mockingjay hitting theater screens in the not too distant future.
All of this would be great news for WizKids, which has three games in the pipeline based on the first film.
Elliott and I are both actually in the midst of checking out the audiobook version of The Hunger Games so the jury is still out as far as our thoughts on the story but here’s a look at the new trailer:
