Will Ellen Page be Part of Queen & Country Tentpole?

A film version of the Oni Press Queen & Country comic series is currently in the works over at Fox and indications are Ellen Page is currently in negotiations to no doubt portray the lead character Tara Chace. Earlier today Variety reported the actress is keen to tackle the role and Fox is also chomping at the bit to put together a tentpole series for Page as well. This certainly wouldn’t be be the first comic related material Page has been a part of as she portrayed Kitty Pride in the mostly forgettable X-Men: The Last Stand and also reprises her role for the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past (which I’m going to predict audiences will enjoy a hell of a lot more than The Last Stand).

Personally, I’d love to see Ellen Page take on Greg Rucka’s Queen & Country as I thought she was wonderful in Juno (yes, I understand that movie is an acquired taste) and Inception, while I can’t recall ever seeing her in a movie where I didn’t care for her performance regardless of what I may have thought of the film. Add to that I find her acting to be very natural and she’s always cast due to her acting chops as opposed to looking like the stereotypical Hollywood bombshell. Not to say Ms. Page is anything less than a lovely young woman though folks.

On a side note, we’ll get to catch Page in the highly anticipated PS3 game Beyond: Two Souls, which hits in October.
