I share my thoughts about the latest Dungeons & Dragons release, Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep, from Wizards of the Coast. In this new adventure, players will embark on an epic quest to release a trapped demigod. The 224 page hardcovers arrives in stores tomorrow, March 15th, carrying an MSRP of $49.95. is this an excellent new adventure supplement for D&D? Or is this a call best left unanswered? You’ll find out!

Dungeons & Dragons Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep | Review and Page-Through

While there's quite a lot to like about Call of the Netherdeep, there's also a good deal about the adventure I dislike a great deal too. There are some cool set pieces, encounters, NPCs, and the overall quest is interesting. Yet, the inclusion of a rival adventuring party which is nearly ALWAYS present and constantly stealing the player character's thunder is a truly unwelcome addition and drains a lot of the life out of the proceedings. All told this is simply an okay release in my book.
