To mark the 74th anniversary of the D-Day landings, I review the classic introductory WWII board game Memoir ’44 from Days of Wonder. Plus the latest news from Games Workshop, Chaosium Inc., 2niverse Games, and more.

Note: It looks like YouTube is up to its old tricks of not rendering the video correctly; there are about twenty minutes of the review missing. I’ve submitted the report and it should be fixed within the next 24 hours or so.

Summary
While it's not a WWII simulation by any stretch, Memoir '44 is still an entertaining way to kill an hour or so at the gaming table. The components are nicely done and the game is quite easy to teach in about ten or fifteen minutes. This certainly isn't aimed at serious grognards but it does make a nice introduction to the subject matter for those who'd never step near a traditional war game.
