I share my thoughts about the special hardcover of RuneQuest Classic available from Chaosium Inc. The book details the edition of the famed Bronze Age, fantasy roleplaying game which was in print from 1979 through 1983.

SUMMARY

For those interested what the RuneQuest roleplaying game was like in the late 1970s and early 1980s, this RuneQuest Classic release is an absolute must own. The question many people will have though is how well does this early edition hold up at the game table today. The answer is quite well actually. Of course, modern RPGs - and modern roleplayers - focus on a lot more than exploration, combat, and treasure but those core tenets from RuneQuest 2E still hold up nicely. 21st century gamers can certainly enjoy this classic edition just as written.
