I dive in for a review and page through of the core rules for Symbaroum from Free League Publishing. The game is relatively rules light and set in a dark, but not grimdark, fantasy setting. Is this roleplaying game a perfect choice for those looking for a dark, fairy tale setting? Or should you close the book on even considering adding Symbaroum to your collection? You’ll find out!

Summary
Symbaroum makes for an excellent fantasy setting and system set in a dark fantasy world. The rules have just enough heft to be completely feather light without getting bogged down in too much crunch. I do wish there was more detail about the setting overall and some aspects of the game world seem a bit handwaved in this corebook. Overall though, this is an excellent RPG and I'd love to see much more of the available supplements.
