I share a how to play as well as my overall thoughts about The Alpha, a new light strategy game from Bicycle Games. Designed by Ralph Rosario with art provided by Andrew Hutchinson, the game places each player in the lead role of a pack of wolves as they look to secure prey and establish their dominancein the region. So is this a title with a bit of bite? Or simply a toothless first foray into tabletop gaming by Bicycle? You’ll find out!

The Alpha | Review and How to Play

I was very pleasantly surprised by The Alpha. The component quality is top notch and the rules presentation is crystal clear. Some may not like the luck factor of the dice involved but it can make for some pretty tense confrontations between the wolf packs. The gang especially liked the light bluffing aspect of the game regarding if their wolves would fight over or share food. The theme of wolves killing prey may not mesh with very young gamers but for everyone else, The Alpha should be an entertaining play.
