What I've really enjoyed about the setting books I've read from Kobold Press is the sheer amount of entertaining and inspirational content packed within. The nine regions of the Southlands are detailed in depth with plenty of current events and adventure hooks and nuggets. Some people may take issue with the fact some civilizations deal in slaves or reliant on slaves as well as the treatment of an enclave of orcs being just straight up evil; I didn't feel my enjoyment suffered though. There's plenty here to use straight up in a Southlands campaign or to crib for your own homegrown settings and adventures.
