Spruce Up Mansions of Madness

I thought I’d share some tips to jazz up your Mansions of Madness games. In reality, this applies to any game that comes with 20-30mm

We’re Alive! THE Zombie Podcast

As I mentioned in the news section of our last show, I’ve been introduced to a fantastic podcast that goes by the name of We’re

Kickstart Us to Essen? Not Likely…

People who regularly visit TGG, or listen to our show, know that I tend to be very forthcoming with my opinions; I take the “views”

Wizard World Chicago Comic Con…It used to be fun

I spent this past weekend at the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con, and although I was hoping to be able to provide a lot more material, this article pretty sums up the who’s and why’s for attending one of the largest comic conventions in the USA.

Let the Gen Con Festivities Commence – I Certainly Need It!

It’s been a challenging week that’s for sure. As folks may have noticed, we didn’t get a show up Monday due to the fact of a family emergency back home in AZ. I try not to delve too deeply into personal issues here on the site simply because people come here to get the latest on the gaming scene; sure, we share our thoughts and opinions but as far as getting into a lot about our personal lives? I honestly don’t think too many people are very interested.

A Guide to Painting Miniatures: Part Three – Brushes and Paints

In this, the third segment in our guide to painting miniatures, I’m going to tackle your final – and most important – pieces of equipment: brushes and paints. It’s important to keep in mind that without quality brushes and paints that will meet your needs your first forays in painting will become nothing more than experiments in frustration. Follow these simple recommendations and smooth sailing lays ahead.

The Magazine Rack: AtO 2010 Annual, LoF #9, and C3i #25

I have fond memories of popping into what might be the premiere location in Chicago to buy magazines, the Six Corners City News Stand located on Cicero near Irving Park Road. I’m pretty sure the place is still kicking although I’m sure that they don’t carry the same number of table top gaming related mags as they once did. Honestly, I don’t think there’s a single U.S. based mass market magazine still being sold so I wouldn’t be shocked if they didn’t carry any.

A Look at Vul-Con Arena II – The Conclusion

I thought I’d finish up my look at last Saturday’s Vul Con Arena II in Glendale, AZ.

I was very surprised by the number of people that I saw at Imperial Outpost Games throughout the afternoon. Granted, I didn’t spend the evening there but I’d take a stab, from the coming and going I observed throughout the day, there may have been upwards of 250-300 people who stopped by. For a game day held in a store, as opposed to a neutral location like a community center or such, I’d have to say the turnout was quite impressive.

A Stop at Vul-Con Arena II – Some Thoughts, Part One

I had the opportunity to spend much of my Saturday morning and afternoon visiting Imperial Outpost Games in Glendale, Arizona. You see the store was the site for Vul Con Arena II, a game day with quite a few events composed of a lot of different genres, which was scheduled as a lead up to next year’s Vul Con.

What? No Retailer Affiliation?

As we rapidly approach our one year anniversary, we’ve decided to move away from having an affiliation with any gaming retailers. It’s not that we have anything against any company, it’s simply the fact that it will free us up to share with you the best deals from anyone and everyone. So if Funagain Games has a big sale going on, we’ll bring that info to you. The same goes for Troll and Toad, Thoughthammer, Noble Knight, and anyone else out there.
