Los Angeles, Calif. – June 26, 2012- Hunters Books and Apparel, the creator of the only true zombie survival simulator; Outbreak: Undead, has announced their partnership with PHI Solutions, a disaster consultant company run by military Veterans. Together they are launching their brand new line of Outbreak: Undead themed Zombie Survival Kits into the market.
“These Zombie kits are not novelty, they are designed to provide players with actual disaster kits. Ones that not only can be used in players games of Outbreak: Undead, but also in an actual emergency,” told Ralph Huber, head of PHI solutions. “Thanks to the CDC, we know that if you’re prepared for a Zombie Apocalypse, you’re prepared for anything.” The kits themselves range anywhere from simple one day fanny packs, to a complete military grade backpack full of real survival essentials ranging from food, water purifiers, and a sleeping bag, to a trench shovel, combat knife, to fun extras such as zombie ‘danger zone’ tape.
Since Outbreak: Undead promotes the idea of ‘reality trumps rules’ in its titles, they created a set of ‘in game’ properties for the gear that is included with the kits. The various packs provide bonuses and also have an indexed rules summary for the items in the bag. This allows players who are playing themselves in a campaign, which is a feature in the game, to have a significant advantage over someone who may not.
Hunters Books is a new company that premiered their book “Outbreak: Undead” at Gen Con 2010 in Indianapolis. There, Hunters Books was given the prestigious Gen Con Marketing Fellowship Award for new entrepreneurs and then awarded “Judges Choice” the following year at the ENnie awards.
