One radio program fondly remembered for it’s chills and thrills is Inner Sanctum Mysteries (or known to many people as just Inner Sanctum) which aired throughout the 1940s. Funny enough a great many of the episodes which set up as being steeped in the supernatural end up having a very mundane conclusion, sorry to say. If you ever decide to go on an Inner Sanctum listening binge you’ll hear exactly what I mean.
Yet, the Scooby Doo sort of endings weren’t always present and once in a while you might not know exactly what caused the creepy goings on. Tonight’s episode is an example of this as a woman suffering from claustrophobia decides the best way to break the affliction is to live in a huge old house. Yeah… That’s the ticket!
Turn out the lights and give a listen to The Creeping Wall on Inner Sanctum Mysteries as it aired on January 8th, 1946.

On a quick side note, most visitors to TGG probably don’t know I ran an old time radio website quite a few years back and I have tens of thousands of radio shows in my collection. Each of the programs I’ll share during the Spooktacular have had their audio personally cleaned up by me to remove many of the pops, crackles, and hisses so common with old time radio recordings. These aren’t pristine by any means but keep in mind the original broadcasts you’ll be hearing are anywhere from fifty to eighty years old…
