Tonight it’s time for another first time listen on the Spooktacular. We haven’t tackled an episode of Lights Out yet and it just happens to be one of the best chillers from the 1930s and 40s. Wyllis Cooper, who I previously mentioned as the mastermind behind the excellent Quiet, Please got the series started and then, after he moved on, Arch Obler moved in and carried the baton. Obler is well known for terrifying tales like The Dark and The Chicken Heart, which many are sure to remember.
Things are about to heat up so turn out the lights, sit back, and give a listen to The Flame on Lights Out as it aired on March 23rd, 1943.
Download the show to take on the go right here.
