About the game:
Bloodlines & Black Magic is a dark, supernatural-themed roleplaying game set in a world that mirrors the one we think we know…
Built in the same world in which we originally released our Pathfinder (PF1) edition of the game (found here), this edition of the game updates the world while giving gamers a 5e-compatible version of the rules. This edition of the book is much larger than the original was, totaling 472 pages compared to the previous book’s 256 pages. In fact, this edition of the book expands a lot of the world, offering readers two chapters (10, 11) filled with lore about the world that game masters can use to help create vivid, supernatural stories set in the darker corners of our modern world.
In development since 2018, this edition of Bloodlines & Black Magic gives players and game masters so much more to work with, including over 100 pages of spells designed exclusively for modern play. Similar in many ways to their 5e counterparts, these spells are described in the context of this modern world, with each spell providing game masters with a brief description of how onlookers might perceive the magic. Likewise, this edition explains and expands attunement. Heroes in Bloodlines & Black Magic can attune to more than just magical weapons; heroes can attune to magical places, otherworldly entities (via pacts and familiars), trusted allies, skills, their bloodline abilities, and the special items they find throughout the Invisible World.
Bloodlines & Black Magic is a horror roleplaying game that addresses the monsters lurking in the supernatural realms, as well as the broken people in our world. As such, it deals with mature concepts and ideas. While we take care to remind you throughout the book, you should be aware of this before you open the cover.
