To celebrate the 25th anniversary of its release Chaosium is bringing a new printing of the classic Call of Cthulhu campaign, Masks of Nyarlathotep, to store shelves. I personally believe that this is the greatest RPG campaign ever written and, even though we don’t cover role playing games much here on TGG, I felt this is a piece of gaming news that begs to be shared! I ran the campaign myself when the original printing came out and I can attest that the campaign provided a good six months of adventure for my gaming gang – Elliott included.

An Origins Award Winner for Best Roleplaying Game Adventure
At last the stars are almost right. Soon Nyarlathotep’s plans will come to fruition. Then the world will be changed irrevocably – but not quite yet. The investigators have learned much. Now they must survive long enough to make sense of what they know, and take resolute action.
This roleplaying classic is a series of linked adventures forming one long and unforgettable campaign. Horrifying deeds and dangerous sorcery face those who dare attempt to unravel the fate of the Carlyle Expedition. The non-linear narrative keeps players baffled and on their toes. Action is the byword as the player-characters evade or combat cultists, magic, mad men, and the dread powers of the Outer Gods.
But that’s not all! Right on the heels of the new printing comes the Masks of Nyarlathotep Companion:
The Companion includes a guide to running each of campaign’s six chapters; detailed descriptions of the many tomes and innumerable locations to be found in the campaign; more information about our good friend, Jackson Elias; two extra scenarios set before and during the campaign; adds countless details about the campaign, such as how to handle money, travel, and the replacement of investigators in what is regarded as one of the deadliest of campaigns ever written. To that end, the Masks of Nyarlathotep Companion includes twenty-eight fully written pre-generated investigators all ready to add to the campaign, ranging from a New York Conjurer and a White Russian Folklorist to a French African gun for hire and a German ex-U-boot commander!
The Masks of Nyarlathotep Companion clocks in at an astounding 495 pages!
