Vul-Con 2012 Updates

Vul-Con February 25-26, 2012I know I mentioned the Vul-Con convention coming to Phoenix, AZ (I’ll be there and I’m trying to convince Elliott to fly out for the show as well) and it’s February 25-26th. Luckily, I’ve been informed of some new updates to forward along.

From organizer Jay Mann:

While both days of the Con will have a full range of gaming, we’re theming each of the days. This year Saturday is Dust Day and actually is the official Dust Day Arizona 2012 – the second in the world (first was in Argentina) and the first in the US.  Sunday will be a Steam Punk themed day.

For Dust Day Arizona we’ll have a broad range of special events and activities going on, including Dust themed games, such as Dust Tactics, B17 Queen of the Skies reimagined as a multiplayer cooperative game, a Weird WWII roleplaying game, Fortune and Glory, and more.  There will also be a military airfield display – Vulcan Field – that will include a full-sized model of an experimental WWII aircraft.  Special virtual guests Paolo Parente and Andy Chambers will join players and fans near Vulcan Field through a restored WWII Remote Commander (the one you saw the photo of online).  Additionally, Swag for the day will be enhanced by Dust themed Swag giveaways and costumed characters will add to the atmosphere.

Steampunk Day on Sunday is a little earlier in its evolution, but currently includes Steampunk themed games, such as Malifaux, Dystopian Wars, Wolsung Steam Fantasy RPG, Battle Over Caprona – Bi-Planes vs. Pteranodons using Wings of Glory, and more.  Special virtual guest Paul Guinan – creator of Boilerplate – will provide updates on the upcoming Boilerplate movie from Bad Robot and producer J.J. Abrams.  Additional surprises for Steampunk Day are currently in the works.

Stay tuned over the next few days as we’ll be offering a special discount code for The Gaming Gang audience to save on their badge registration!
