Plenty of action this week, from Image Comics, especially the latest story arc with The Walking Dead #127 (in the aftermath of the unrelenting All Out War) as well as Shutter #2 and Starlight #3.
Time for some classically styled SF with the launch of Mars Attacks: First Born (especially with art by Sam Keith) as well as some utterly bizarre WEIRD Love from IDW Publishing this week.
Plenty of good pulp action this week with Miss Fury #11 and The Shadow #25, as well as the latest issue of Ash and the Army of Darkness, from Dynamite Entertainment.
X #13 and Hellboy in Hell #6 are two of the titles to look for this week from our friends at Dark Horse Comics. Also of interest are a couple of gaming artwork hardcovers, The Art of Plants Vs Zombies and The Art of Wolfenstein: The New Order.
The big Marvel Comics Summer crossover has begun and this year it’s Original Sin; Nick Fury (assisted by a cast of House of Idea regulars and irregulars) is on the case to find who killed the Watcher. It might turn out to be one of the tens of thousands of Marvel fans who received one of those oddball promotional Watcher’s eyeballs …but I doubt it. This could turn out to be one of the more interesting Marvel events in a while. There’s also Cyclops #1 and the latest Warren Ellis lunacy in Moon Knight for your pleasure.
Probably the title which will stand out most this week from DC is New 52: Future’s End. Not necessarily because it’s the hottest title but it’s the launch of another weekly, to go alongside Batman Eternal; weeklies tend to do well for their first few issues before they have to sink or swim. Also on the agenda is both Detective Comics and Green Lantern issues #31.
Just a couple issues this time out, from Zenescope Entertainment, to whet your good/bad girl art appetite: the conclusion of B.A.R. Maid and Grimm Fairy Tales #97.
Image Comics has a lot on the burners this week including the launches of Madame Frankenstein and Nailbiter as well as the latest issue of cult favorite Rat Queens.
IDW Publishing continues to evenly mix kid’s fare with more adult offerings (on store shelves at least) this week as you can pick up Rocky and Bullwinkle #3 or the Powerpuff Girls #9 right alongside The Illegitimates #5 and The Crow: Pestilence #3 – Just to name a few…
Ya says ya wants variants? Well this week it seems every new issue from Dynamite Entertainment has plenty of variant covers to float your boat as well as the launch (maybe we should say return?) of Chaos and the near conclusion of The Lone Ranger.
