Relative newcomer Moosetache Games has scored the runner up position, with Rowboat, for the Traditional Family Card Game category in this year’s edition of the top 100 from Games Magazine. Not too shabby for their first release I’d have to say! What a shame the folks at Games Magazine haven’t moved into the 21st century with their website or you might be able to read more about Rowboat there.
The game contains 61 cards, sand timer, and instruction booklet. Cards are dealt face up until an oar, a wave, a shell, and a map are showing. This is called the Tide. then each player is dealt the same number of cards that are in the Tide. Then, each predicts how many rounds they will win. You then navigate your way through the Tide with the cards in your hand. Make your bid and score those points. Be careful because if you fall short you’ll lose points!
