Jeff’s Nearly Out for the Count

Well I found out earlier today that the flu bug that I seemed to have been unable to shake off has turned out to be viral pneumonia. I was really exhausted following the move to my new home yesterday and I spent most of the time really wheezing and fighting for breath; I was in even worse shape as I woke up this morning to head off to work. I was worried because it just seemed that I kept bopping along on a downhill slide so I finally bit the bullet and went to the doctor to find out just what in the world was going on. Needless to say I was pretty surprised to find it was pneumonia and the first thing the doctor telling me was that I should honestly be heading to the hospital.

Hooray! That was just a lovely spot of news… Here I never guessed that you could catch pneumonia the same as a cold. I suppose you learn something new every day because I always thought something else deteriorated into it as opposed to having pneumonia from the get go.

Luckily I was able to convince the doc that I could easily take care of myself at home (seeing that my insurance coverage is rather lame and I’d rather not be working the next six months to pay off a hospital bill) so I’ll be home bound for the most part the next two weeks. I can say this isn’t the most opportune time to be missing work, what with the holidays and all, but not much I can do about it.

I’ll do my best to continue to stay on top of things here on the website but my energy level is extremely low and has been for the past week or so. Seeing I’m ingesting huge amounts of antibiotics I hope to turn the corner in the next few days although I do have a follow up visit to the doc on Friday and if there hasn’t been enough of an upward turn I‘ll have to be admitted to the hospital regardless of how opposed to that direction I may be.

I just wanted to give our visitors a heads up because I know that the past few days things have been a littler quieter than our normal output people have come to expect. Rest assured it isn’t because the desire isn’t there folks!

So if you don’t mind I’ll ask you keep your fingers crossed and I’m sure that I should be back to one hundred percent before you know it!
