I share my review of the science fiction roleplaying game The Electric State from Free League Publishing. Based on the artwork of Simon Stålenhag, the game drops players into the roles of travelers trekking across an alternate timeline western United States in the midst of societal collapse in 1997.
SUMMARY
The Electric State is a quite interesting rules light, Year Zero Engine roleplaying game. I especially like the background setting even though it doesn't hold up all too well if you apply a lot of thought to it. This is a nicely presented science fiction roleplaying game which isn't just the same old same old. While I like The Electric State quite a lot, this certainly isn't going to be everyone's bag of tricks.
