Epic DeathThe folks over at Game Salute have announced their latest game (in partnership with waits in graves)and it’s a fantasy adventure title for two to five players. In Epic Death, each player takes on the role of an adventurer as the team looks to gain loot and glory through a series of quests. It sounds like there will be plenty of handfuls of dice rolling and if the box art is any indication – didn’t I see that same art airbrushed on a side of a van in the 70s? – the game may have a bit of a tongue in cheek vibe. Epic Death is coming soon!

From Game Salute:

The team at waits in graves is excited to be releasing their first game as a design studio with Game Salute. We have worked hard on the game to make sure its fun and exciting, and we look forward to hearing about tales of epic wins and fails from gamers around the world!

EPIC DEATH! is a game for two to five players and centers around taking your party of adventurers on a quest for glory and loot, before killing them off against the largest monster you can find.

In the first phase of the game, players will try to complete Quests by rolling handfuls of dice. These dice are often modified by Fate cards played by yourself and other players. Fate cards can add or subtract dice, and also mess with the games mechanics in other devious and interesting ways.

If you’re successful, you will take Epic scoring Loot cards as a reward with which to equip your Adventurers. If however you are unsuccessful, you will instead be placing Fail. Fail is subtracted from Epic at the end of the game to make your final score, but only dead Adventurers are counted.

In the second phase of the game, your Adventures have advanced onto terrifying and deadly Epic Quests which instead of adding Fail, can kill your Adventurers. Here you will be using your Fate cards to try and botch your dice rolls, earning the chance to kill an Adventurer and score some Epic!

The game ends when all the Epic Quests have been completed, or if a player manages to kill all five of their Adventurers. All Epic from dead Adventurers is counted up, subtracting any Fail acquired from unsuccessful Quests. The player with the highest Epic score wins!

EPIC DEATH! is a fast and fun game, full of nail biting dice rolls and opportunities to mess with your friends. We hope you have as much fun playing the game as we did making it!
