I share my review of the starter set for Fallout: The Roleplaying Game from Modiphius Entertainment and Bethesda Softworks. The boxed set includes the rules, an introductory adventure, custom dice, pre-generated characters, and tokens to introduce you to the game.

The box set normally carries an MSRP of $34.00 but is currently on sale – to mark the premiere of the Fallout series on Amazon Prime – for about $23.00. Right now you can also score the PDF for a sale price of $8.04 (normally $12.00) at DriveThruRPG.

SUMMARY

The Fallout: The Roleplaying Game Starter Set is packed with value. Granted, as with most starter sets, there aren't any character creation rules but you do get a solid amount of the core rules in order to run the game. There's also a lengthy adventure which is quite well done and the custom dice are almost worth the purchase alone. I do have minor quibbles but, as we see with just about all the outside IPs Modiphius Entertainment tackles for RPGs, this really shines and captures the feel of the video game series world.
