An interesting looking exploration game is arriving from Stronghold Games next month. In Islands in the Mist, designed by Volker Schächtele, players will pilot their hot air balloons across a mysterious landscape all while revealing the terrain below. The game is for two to four players, ages 10+, plays in around 45 to 60 minutes, and will carry an MSRP of $49.99 when it arrives July 14th.
About the game:
Travel in your hot air balloon and discover the terrain below. Make use of the local winds skillfully to save the precious energy you need to speed up or slow down. Travel against the wind when you must to attain the end you have in view.
Players explore the terrain surrounding their balloon by placing tiles on neighboring hexagons. They build cities, erect monuments – and the scenery takes shape around them. The game ends once a player has connected all terrains to the balloon take-off site. The player who has made the most of their tiles wins!
