We heard from our pal Stephen Buonocore, of Stronghold Games, that due to the unfortunate passing of renowned game designer James St. Lauren this past Monday, Crude: The Oil Game will drop from a November release to sometime in the first quarter of 2012. Mr. St. Lauren was working with Stronghold on a reimagining of his original design and, from our interview with Stephen at Origins, it sounded like Crude is shaping up to be a nice meaty game.
We’re sad to hear Crude will be delayed but sadder still at the passing of yet another great name from the golden age of board gaming.
I hope that the new edition of Crude will be the crowning achievement in the design career of Mr. St. Lauren.
