Upper Deck is releasing the Marvel Super Hero Squad TCG on April 24th. The rules and card design are based on the Gazillion Marvel Super Hero Squad Online two player card game. The card game will feature exclusive loot cards and special reward codes that will even unlock features in the online game. Loot cards will add exclusive items such as playable characters to the online game while reward codes can be redeemed for digital rewards such as silver or prize wheel tickets.
The 300-card base set will be available in three flavors: Intro Packs themed around one of four different characters – Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, and the Hulk. Each Intro Pack will include one theme deck and one booster pack, a super-rare foil card and a collectible coin; Two player Intro Packs which pit the Avengers against the X-Men will include two exclusive play mats and a collectible coin; Booster Packs which each contain six commons, three uncommons and one rare foil.
Keep in mind this new trading card game is not the previously announced, yet cancelled, Upper Deck Marvel Superstars TCG.
I can see it now, comic fans (and kids of all ages) will be calling out “Avengers Assemble” or “Hulk smash!” all Spring long!
