Comic Book Resources is reporting the climactic final issue of Age of Ultron (#10), from Marvel, was made available on file sharing sites well in advance of the comic hitting local comic shops tomorrow. Piracy is certainly nothing new as “0-Day” torrents and downloads are easily available on a multitude of sites. What has become a disturbing new trend for publishers are titles being floated out there prior to arriving on shelves.
Obviously many reviewers, such as TGG, can receive digital issues weeks or even months prior to release and digital editions are created for online retailers so the avenues for these leaks are certainly not simply a handful. As more and more publishers look to provide digital content the amount of piracy is going to continue to grow so it will be interesting how companies will look to combat this.
