If you take a look at the bottom of one of our post pages you’ll see that, as of this writing, one of our built in devices has already blocked nearly 3700 bad guys (and gals) who see our website as nothing more than an extension of their twisted play to pawn off online garbage onto our visitors. Unfortunately it doesn’t catch every lowlife who wants to peddle penis enhancement, erectile dysfunction remedies, financial services, website design, acaiberry (What the hell IS an acaiberry anyway? Is it something like a dingleberry?) or various other unsavory rip-off nonsense.
Over the last week or so we’ve been inundated by what seems like nearly every assclown who has the capability to blanket spider spam websites. Up to this point we’ve simply held those comments for moderation and then deleted them enmasse. Yet that means we have to take time to glance through every comment to make sure that somehow a legitimate opinion hasn’t been mistakenly flagged. Since none of us here have the time or energy to continue to do this we’ll now resort to more drastic measures.
Any somewhat spammy comment will now be tagged and that IP address banned from accessing TGG and reported to your internet service provider. We know the difference between someone leaving a legitimate comment that has a link or two and some jerkoff who has no interest in our website other than as a way to shove garbage links into the discussion. Normally something along the lines of “This article was extremely interesting, especially since I was searching for thoughts on this subject last Thursday,” is a dead giveaway that you’re a spammer. And thus you’ll be banned – end of story.
We take the security and integrity of our website very seriously and we’re not going to fool around!
