Stronghold Games regrets to inform our customers of a delay in shipping for our preorder and retail copies of Survive: Escape from Atlantis!
Upon opening some early copies of the game, we encountered some problems with humidity causing some pieces to stick. This can leave marks on a small percentage of the meeples, meaning the hidden information element of the game is potentially spoiled. This issue affected only a small portion of the copies inspected, but enough to exceed our comfort level with sending out the games to our customers.
Because of this, we’ve asked our factory to send us replacement pieces so that the copies going out to our preorder customers will be of a quality that matches Stronghold Games high demands. Our factory has gladly agreed.
This change will delay the preorder shipping for 2-4 weeks whilst we make the appropriate changes. We now anticipate preordered copies going our to our customers in the 2nd or 3rd week of December rather than the 4th week of November. We are making every effort to ensure that preordered copies arrive in time for the Holiday Season so that you can enjoy this game with family and friends.
Preorder copies will still be shipped before any retail copies are sent out as per our promise to our customers, and will still represent an industry-best preorder-to-delivery time for our valued customers. We now also anticipate a retail shelf date of early January for Survive: Escape from Atlantis!.
Of course, up to the moment before shipping begins we always offer a chance for a full refund if we are not living up to your expectations. We believe that the final product you receive will more than justify the extra wait, and we hope you realize that it’s our goal to make sure the product you receive exceeds your expectations. We expect nothing less than the best product for our customers.
Finally, for those of you who would like to preorder Survive: Escape from Atlantis!, the preorder window remains open, but not for long. Preordering customers receive 30% off MSRP and the Giant Squid Mini-Expansion for FREE (a $5.95 value).
If you are concerned about obtaining Survive in time for the Holiday Season (for someone special, yourself included!) we advise placing a preorder. We make no guarantees about delivery in time for the Holiday Season, but given our current estimates, it does appear as though preorders will ship with enough time to spare to allow most of our preorder customers in the U.S. to receive their game before December 25th. Ideally we would like to make sure that retailers receive their copies before then as well, but our preorder shipping must be completed before retail shipments can begin.
