Megan Fox in Talks to Become Next ‘Doctor Who’ for BBC (April Fool’s!)

An interesting development was revealed early this morning regarding who may possibly replace Peter Capaldi as The Doctor for the eleventh season of Doctor Who. It really is a stunning bit of casting news, but the BBC has indicated a desire to shake up its hit SF show and approached American actress Megan Fox three weeks ago with a long term deal to fill the soon to be vacant seat in the TARDIS.

Fox is probably best known for her roles in two Transformers movies and TMNT series of films. The casting of an internationally recognizable face indicates the BBC is obviously aiming to make radical changes to the Doctor Who formula and may be looking to provide The Doctor with a serious injection of sex appeal. Fox, as The Doctor, shouldn’t be a stretch as the actress has plenty of experience in the SF/Fantasy genre.

Family viewers may be a touch concerned that a “sex symbol” may take on the mantle of their beloved character, yet many long time fans of Doctor Who have openly and loudly called for a more ethnically diverse Doctor (or a gender change) for years. Just keep in mind the BBC negotiations with Fox are just beginning and nothing is official. Stay tuned as we bring you more Doctor Who news as it develops.
