A larger output than usual from Zenescope with four issues so fans of the Grimm Fairy Tales series should be pleased as the latest GFTP Godstorm Hercules Payne, GFTP Helsing, GFTP Wonderland, and GFTP Wonderland: Clash of Queens arrive on the scene.

Fans of variants will have plenty to choose from this week from Dynamite, with Solar Man of the Atom, Mark Waid’s Green Hornet, Turok Dinosaur Hunter, Flash Gordon and Dejah of Mars all receiving multiple covers. Personally, I like the classic look of the cover for Green Hornet’s finale.
The Goon makes his return (albeit in a one shot) after a hiatus with One for the Road while Dream Thief: Escape launches and Vandroid and Serenity: Leave on the Wind conclude this week from Dark Horse Comics.
Back in the day the highlight for many newspaper readers was the Sunday comics section and millions across the U.S. turned to the four color strips as a way to escape the ever increasing horrors found on the front pages of the 1930s and 1940s.
Sometimes I think if Cormac McCarthy penned comics those books would read a lot like Matt and Shawn Fillbach’s non-Star Wars work. Ok… Maybe McCarthy wouldn’t delve into something like the Fillbach’s Tales of the S.S. Chunky Star, since that’s aimed at kids, but much of the Fillbach’s other recent work does possess a serious McCarthy vibe; heavy on imagery and tone while including great stretches with minimal dialogue.
Hitting last month was the first X-Men graphic novel in a long, long time (1982 to be exact) X-Men: No More Humans. The tale places everyone’s
Disney’s Figment launches as does Original Sins (not to be confused with Original Sin) this week from Marvel and there’s a lot of goodness hitting your FLCS with New Avengers #19 and Wolverine #8 as well.
Gail Simone’s Batgirl #32 looks to be a hot pick this week while DC Comics also has plenty to choose from including Detective Comics #32 and Superman/Wonder Woman #9 to lighten your wallet.
