One of my favorite independent comics is Eric Powell’s The Goon, from Dark Horse Comics, and when I ran across this really sweet Trick or Treat Studios Halloween mask I just had to share it! For those who aren’t familiar with The Goon, the story revolves around – yes – the Goon and his sidekick Frankie as they wage war against the Zombie Priest and his horde of undead minions as well as an assortment of other oddball creatures and baddies from time to time. The humor is over the top, the violence fairly gruesome, the language saltier than a Mr. Salty pretzel but I’ll be damned if many of the stories don’t manage to tug a little on the old heartstrings; thus making it one of my must read comics.

The Goon Halloween Mask itself is available at the Treat or Treat website and is actually on some retailer’s shelves as well – Target being one. The mask carries an MSRP of $60 but the detailing looks phenomenal!

From Trick or Treat:

In association with Eric Powell and Dark Horse Comics, Trick or Treat Studios is proud to bring you the first ever Halloween Mask based on the amazing comic book, The Goon!

The nameless man, the Zombie Priest, has come to town to build a gang from the undead. But even the undead fear the Goon, mob enforcer and protector of the downtrodden residents of Lonely Street. With Eric Powell’s stunning artwork, The Goon’s unique mash-up of horror, mob intrigue, and the sickest sense of humor in comics make this series one of our all time favorites! You can always find copies of The Goon around the offices of Trick or Treat Studios.

This officially licensed mask is an exact replica of the Goon from the comic series and the soon to be released as a major motion picture starring Clancy Brown and Paul Giamatti and directed by David Fincher, best known for his directorial work on Fight Club and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

So get your Goon Full Over The Head Halloween Mask on and go kick some zombie butt!
