The Mightiest Superhero Slot Games

The world of slot gaming takes inspiration from all manner of source material. From the myths of Ancient Greece to the less legendary worlds of construction or cookery, no genre is too obscure to be mined for inspiration by slot game designers. So it’s no surprise that superheroes – those dominant cultural influences at the cinema these days – feature in a number of online slots. When Disney took over the Marvel franchise their anti-gambling stance meant that the hugely popular Marvel slot game series from Playtech was put out of action. But when a hero falls others rise up to take their place, and we have picked out a few of the worthiest here.

Justice League

This slot was released to coincide with the (extremely disappointing) movie of the same name, but while the film didn’t live up to expectations the game has fared rather better. The Marvel-sized hole that the removal of that series of titles left in the slot gaming world was crying out to be filled. The obvious answer was to turn to D.C., and a new range of superhero-themed progressive jackpot slots was born. Justice League is one of the better entries in this new Playtech series, featuring images of all the major players from the movie. Super Heroes

There are no familiar faces in this super-hero themed slot from Yggdrasil but you won’t care at all once you start playing as this game is a real treat. Batman Begins

Iron Man was the star of the Marvel slot games, earning a separate game for each of his three movies. Batman is the big dog in the DC Universe, and the best of his featured games is probably Batman Begins, based on one of the great DC movies. Again, this game forms part of the linked progressive slot game series, along with Justice League and various other DC titles. And again, this one is packed full of more tricks and surprises than you could find in Adam West’s utility belt.

X-O Manowar

Anyone familiar with Valiant Comics will know about the best-selling series which chronicled the adventures of the sentient body armour (X-O ManOWar) which led the struggle against the oppressive ‘Vine’. This Pariplay game takes its visual styling from the comic-books and incorporates important characters like Colonel Capshaw, Saana, Trill and X-O ManOWar. This 25 pay-line slot includes a huge variety of bonus features to make for an entertaining gaming experience. Even if you don’t know the source material, this is one action-packed slot game.
